ESTHG | RDF Founder and CEO is an Entrepreneur of the Year Philippines 2022 Finalist | Dr. Rober H. Lo, Founder and CEO of RDF Feed, Livestock & Foods, Inc. was among the finalists for the coveted Entrepreneur of The Year Philippines 2022 (EOYP) award. Considered as among the country’s most undaunted and unstoppable entrepreneurs, Dr. Lo accepted his prestigious award during the Awards Banquet held on November 21, 2022 at the Grand Hyatt Manila.
A program of SGV Foundation, Inc., the EOYP 2022 was done in partnership with co-presenters the Asian Institute of Management, the Department of Trade and Industry, the Philippine Business for Social Progress, and the Philippine Stock Exchange. BusinessWorld featured each finalist for the Entrepreneur Of The Year Philippines 2022, which included Dr. Lo.
In the BusinessWorld feature of Dr. Lo, it narrated his humble beginnings of managing a small poultry farm and built it into a huge agri-food company. Today, RDF Feed, Livestock & Foods, Inc. (RDF) manages modern chicken and swine farms in Pampanga and Tarlac, complete with feed mills, slaughterhouse, and meat-cutting and processing units. RDF runs a chain of meatshops to maximize value.
RDF practices environmental, social, and governance. The Bureau of Animal Industry certifies its modern farms for animal welfare and food safety. The company’s facilities have also recently passed the Food Safety System Certification (FSSC 22000 v5.1) requirements by BSI, a leading food safety and certification provider.
In the BusinessWorld interview, Mr. Lo stated he values his job to sustain food security, support local families, and enhance the agriculture sector despite his business’s size, complexity, and obstacles. He advises youth to “enjoy what you are doing so that you can stay productive and motivated even in the face of difficulties.”
